Fish hanging on wires strung between timber framing to dry out in the sun at Hammerfest, Norway. The racks are sited near the foot of the Sadlen to catch as much of the sun as possible. The dried fish are called clip. A few of the town's wooden buildings are in the background. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
