The photographer is looking back along the railway track showing members of the ship's crew spaced out in a line on the jetty for the arrival of a special train, hauled by an L.N.E.R. class B7 4-6-0 locomotive with a number beginning 547. The locomotive is carrying the headcode 376. A telegraph office has been erected on the jetty. The ship is dressed overall and is preparing for a cruise to Norway.
