Shipping along the commercial waterfront and in the Tagus at Lisbon, Portugal.
Shipping along the commercial waterfront and on the Tagus at Lisbon, Portugal. The photographer is on board the P. & O. passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) on the Tagus looking towards the city showing a port quarter view of the British flagged cargo steamer Tweed (1926) at anchor with lighters alongside. Alongside the commercial wharves on the right is the passenger/cargo liner Esperance Bay (1922), seen from off her starboard beam, on a Mediterranean cruise out of Southampton. In the centre is a port beam view of the white liveried P. & O. passenger cruise ship Strathmore (1935), also on a cruise. On the left and partially obscured by the Tweed (1926) is the Royal Mail Line passenger/cargo liner Highland Brigade (1929) on a voyage from London to Buenos Aires.
