The eastern district of Valletta, Malta. The photographer is in the Upper Barracca Gardens looking north-east showing the Victoria Gate on the left. A line of flat-roofed commercial premises leads to the gate and one is the Cafe Express. A number of horse drawn carriages and motor vehicles are on Barriera (Quarry) Wharf and a few dghaisas are near the water's edge. The Lower Barracca Gardens, the Alexander Ball monument and the Ricasoli breakwater and lighthouse are in the background. A vertical format negative.
