The Statue of Liberty on the shore at Mitylene, Lesbos Island, Greece

The Statue of Liberty on the shore at Mitylene, Lesbos Island, Greece. The photographer is looking east-south-east from parkland above the promenade showing a number of people sitting at the base of the statue, which was erected in 1930. The Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929), seen from just ahead of her port beam, is anchored offshore. The negative is showing signs of reticulation but a scan made in May 2019 is available.
