He is looking forward and to starboard from the promenade deck under the poop showing lifeboat number 15 missing from its davits. Three passengers are leaning on the ship's rail and one is sitting on a folding chair. The Acropolis of Akronafplia is on the left and the Palamidi Fortress is on the right.
