Tugs off Piers 95 to 97 at the Transatlantic Terminals on the Hudson River at New York.
Tugs off Piers 95 to 97 at the Transatlantic Terminals on the Hudson River at New York. The photographer is looking east towards Manhattan from on board a Swedish American passenger cruise ship, either the Gripsholm (1925) or the Kungsholm (1928) showing two tugs escorting her in the foreground. Both tugs are seen from off their starboard beam and the nearest one is the Richard J. Barrett (1919). The adjacent tug is one of the Olsen Towing Line vessels. Other tugs with tows are off the piers. On the south side of Pier 97 is the Anchor Line passenger/cargo liner Cameronia (1920) and one of the Prince Line compass class passenger cargo liners is on the south side of Pier 95.
