The village of Hellesylt, Sunnylvsfjorden, Norway.

The south side of the village of Hellesylt in More og Romsdal region, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking south-by-east from the north side of the Hellesyltfossen Waterfall showing the cascading water in the foreground. The approach road to the Hellesylt Bridge is on the left and in the centre of the village is the Tryggestad Hotell (formerly the Missions Hotell). Beyond the village is the valley of the Korsbrekkelva. The negative is incorrectly captioned "Oie", which is a very small settlement on Norangfjord and may have been another destination on this cruise.
