The harbour waterfront at Pola, Italy
The harbour waterfront at Pola, Italy. The photographer is looking north-east-by-east towards the city from on board the Ellerman Lines passenger cruise ship City of Dover (1907) which is berthed alongside the north side of a quay. Small open boats are at moorings in the harbour and there is a rake of railway trucks on the quayside. Two to six storey residential buildings are behind a line of trees facing the harbour.
