The Pedro Montt is a compacted stone but un-surfaced thoroughfare on a hill. The majority of the properties in the foreground have corrugated iron roofs. The tower of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral del Sagrado Corazón) is on the right and beyond it are two tall lattice steel radio masts . Anchored out in Reloncavi Sound and seen from off her starboard side is the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) dressed overall.
