A street scene in Punta Arenas, Chile.

A street scene in Punta Arenas, Chile. The photographer is looking south-east-by-east down the Pedro Montt to Reloncavi Sound from parkland west of Jose I Zenteno. The Pedro Montt is a compacted stone but un-surfaced thoroughfare on a hill. The majority of the properties in the foreground have corrugated iron roofs. The tower of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral del Sagrado Corazón) is on the right and beyond it are two tall lattice steel radio masts . Anchored out in Reloncavi Sound and seen from off her starboard side is the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) dressed overall.
