The old quarter of Quebec City, Canada.
The old quarter of Quebec City, Canada. The photographer is looking north from the wooden promenade in front of the Chateau Frontenac showing the Chateau Frontenac on the left. On the right are the buildings squeezed in between the St. Lawrence River and the hill. These are mainly commercial buildings and include the premises of A.C. Routier, Jeweller of 50 Mountain Hill. His building is advertising Jewelery (sic), Watches and Diamonds. Other advertisements that can be seen are Molson's Ale, Boswell's Ales & Porter, Canadian Club and a large sign showing the services of the Canada Steamship Line. The grain storage silo fronting the St. Charles River is in the centre background.
