Roofs and PLA Building
An impressionistic watercolour by the marine artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931), one of several studies of London's roofs. This one shows buildings in the eastern part of the City, with the headquarters of the Port of London Authority, opened in 1922, towering in the distance. The PLA was established as a public trust in 1908 to ‘administer, preserve and improve the Port of London’.
