The coast road is unsurfaced. A number of medieval windmills are on the north-west coast and the large building in the background facing the north-east shore is the Grande Albergo Delle Rose hotel. Compare this image with negative number P94629 which was taken slightly later after the coast road had been made up and the windmills had been demolished.
