A distant view of the outskirts of Rhodes.
A distant view of the outskirts of Rhodes. The photographer is looking north-east from a hilltop to the south-west of the city showing the west coast beaches and the scattered buildings in the southern outskirts of the city. The coast road has been metalled and surfaced and the large building in the background facing the north-east shore is the Grande Albergo Delle Rose hotel. Compare this image with negative number P94614 which was taken slightly earlier before the road was surfaced and and when windmills existed on the north-west shore.
