The town, Gustavia Harbour and the coastline on the west coast of Saint Barthelemy, West Indies.
The town, Gustavia harbour and the coastline on the west coast of Saint Barthelemy, West Indies. The photographer is looking north-west from a slightly elevated position above the town showing the harbour on the left with its approaches above the trees. Two-masted schooners and single-masted sailing vessels are at anchor in the harbour and its approaches. The buildings in the town and mainly single and 2-storey built of stone or brick under pitched roofs. The Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925), seen from wide off her port bow, is at anchor offshore and she is in all-white livery and is dressed overall. The Ilet Colombier is just off the north-west headland and the island of Saint-Martin is in the distance.
