The north-east district of Mindelo, St. Vincent (Sao Vicente), Cape Verde Islands. The photographer is looking west-north-west from high ground over the rooftops and two women with chickens are in the foreground. A walled sports ground is on the right and in thre right background is the Ponto Joao Ribeiro. In the left background is the rocky islet of Ilheu dos Passaros between Porto Grande harbour and the Canal de Sao Vicente which separates St. Vincent from the island of Santo Anao.
