A port bow view looking on board the Swedish sail training topsail schooners Falken (1947) and her sister ship Gladan (1946) moored on the River Tyne, during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993.

A port bow view from the quayside looking on board the Swedish sail training topsail schooners Falken (1947) and her sister ship Gladan (1946), moored on the River Tyne, during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. Falken is moored to the quayside and the ship is fully dressed overall, including a Swedish ensign flying from a flagstaff on its stern. A lifeboat is attached to metal davits on the port side. Two open deck cabins are visible on deck with life-preserving cases attached to the respective roofs. On the left hand side of the image is what appears to be a covered companionway, leading down into the inside of the schooner. A man in a blue jumpsuit is walking along the starboard side of the yacht. Moored on Falken's starboard side is Falken's sister ship HMS Gladan. Similar to Falken, the ship is fully dressed overall and a man in a white t-shirt can be seen near one of the deck cabins. A group of buildings can be seen on the oppsite bank of the Tyne. The Tyne Bridge can be seen in the background.
