The coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Italy.
The coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Italy. The photographer is on board an unidentified cruise ship looking at a rugged coastline with a mountainous backdrop. A large settlement is on a clifftop with some buildings, including a large commercial building with a tall chimney, at the water's edge at the foot of the cliff. The negative is captioned Capri but this is definitely not the island of Capri. It is presumed that the ship was on passage from Sorrento to Capri but this particular part of the coast has not been identified.
