The fish harbour at Stavanger, Norway.
The fish harbour at Stavanger, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking along the waterfront showing steam and motor fishing vessels alongside the quays and jetty. Some of the vessels are identifiable by name or port registration including the Roal R188S, Lissy and R7F. The jetty in the middle ground has stacks of fish boxes, some oil drums and two motor lorries on it. A number of steam vessels are in the background. A vertical format negative.
