On board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) manoeuvring in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. The photographer is on the starboard side of the promenade deck at the forward end looking forward and showing one of the ship's seamen in the chains heaving the lead to take soundings. No. 1 lifeboat is under her davits and a number of passengers are watching proceedings. The Gamla Stan district is in the background. To the right of centre is a trot of three Royal Navy E class destroyers of the 5th Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet and it is known that some ships of this flotilla undertook a cruise in Scandinavian waters between 18 June and 6 July 1937.
