Quayside view of the Thames sailing barge Will (1925), the yacht Rona II (1991) and the ketch Spirit of Boadicea (1975) moored on the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993
A view from the quayside looking along the starboard side onto the deck of the Thames sailing barge Will (1925) moored on the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. An orange life preserver is attached to the side of the cabin with the words "WILL MALDON" visible. The ship's lifeboat is attached to metal davits next to the deckhouse, whilst the open skylight and numerous orange life preservers can be seen on the converted hatch cover amidships. A group of people are sitting on the quayside along the right hand side of the image. The Rona II (1991), Spirit of Boadicea (1975) are moored beyond the bow of the Will. Numerous ships moored to the quayside and the Tyne Bridge can be seen in the background. The photograph has been taken at an angle so the horizon is not level.
