A starboard broadside view of the ketch-rigged yacht called Zawan (?) motoring down the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993

A quayside starboard view of a ketch-rigged yacht Zawan (?) motoring down the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. The name of the vessel is uncertain as the words are slightly out of focus on the image. The hull is painted dark blue and the sails are furled. There are nine people sitting at the stern or amidships and one standing at the bow. There is no ensign on a stern post, but there appears to be a Polish flying from the mizzen mast, possibly indicating its orign. A group of people, and various buildings can be seen on the opposite side of the river bank.
