The photographer is looking north-by-west from an elevated position close to the shore in Sodarmalm district showing the cloverleaf road in the foreground and the Sluss Bridges crossing the Soderstrom. The Slussplan and the statue of Karl XIV Johan on horseback are on the right and the Kornhamnstorg Square and fish harbour are on the left. The spire of the German Church is in the centre with the clock and bell tower of the Storkyrkan to the left. The steeple of the Protestant church of Santa Klara Kyrkas Vänner is in the left background. Clocks in the town are reading 12.25.
