The volcano Stromboli in the Lipari Islands, Italy, seen from on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929). The photographer is on the centreline at the forward end of the pool enclosure looking aft and to starboard showing two people in the corner of the enclosure and another man by the side of the cargo winches. The aft davit for lifeboat 17 is on the left and lifeboat 19 is beyond the samson post. The top of the volcano is obscured by cloud or steam. Negative number P95497 is similar and taken on the same occasion.
