An event on the harbour waterfront of the village of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece. The captain of the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) is sitting next to a table which iscovered with an embroidered cloth and has a presentation bunch of flowers on it. Three men in suits, each wearing a poppy style flower or badge in the left lapel, and a woman in Greek national costume are standing in front of the table. A large crowd is seated in the background. The village is also known as Limenas, which is Greek for 'port'.
