The village and harbour at Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece, with the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) anchored offshore.
The village and harbour at Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) which is at anchor offshore and is seen from just ahead of her starboard beam. The camera is pointing north and a small number of single and two masted sailing vessels are in the harbour. A 2-masted schooner is drawn up on the foreshore. Leading lights are on both breakwaters at the harbour entrance. A party of tourists is walking at the foot of the hill in the foreground. The village is also known as Limenas, which is Greek for 'port'.
