Embankment
A graphite sketch by Wyllie of the Embankment. The Embankment had been built to reclaim land from the north bank of the Thames and to provide an imposing riverfront. For part of its length it concealed Bazalgette's main sewer and what are now the District and Circle Lines of London's underground railway.
