The pitch loading jetty at La Brea, Trinidad.
The pitch loading jetty at La Brea, Trinidad. The photographer is looking north-by-east from the shore showing the jetty stretching out into the Gulf of Paria. The picture clearly shows details of the overhead transporter system and the electric power pylon. Hidden behind a shed on the side of the jetty is a large cargo vessel which is loading barrels of pitch. A single masted sailing vessel is alongside a short wooden jetty on the left. The negative is incorrectly captioned "Loading oil, Trinidad".
