A close-up view of the top of one of the pylons supporting the overhead pitch loading system at La Brea, Trinidad. This system moves loaded barrels of pitch from the factory by the side of the pitch lake down the hill to the loading jetty which projects out into the Gulf of Paria. Two barrels of pitch can be seen on cradle number 10 heading towards the jetty while cradle 25 heading back to the factory is empty.
