The seafront at Zoppot, Free City of Danzig. Zoppot was part of the Free City of Danzig from 1920 to 1939. The photographer is looking north-by-west from the lighthouse showing the pier gardens on the right and a large number of basket seats scattered on the beach with each one having a low embankment round it. The roof and terrace of the Kasino Hotel are on the left. People are in the water and a leisure complex with two piers are in the background. The coast is backed by a tree-lined strip of land.
