The terrace of the Kasino Hotel and the seafront at Zoppot, Free City of Danzig. Zoppot was part of the Free City of Danzig from 1920 to 1939. The photographer is looking north-by-west from an upper floor in the hotel showing the dance floor and seating area of the enclosed terrace packed with people. A number of basket seats are scattered on the beach with each one having a low embankment round it and the seats all have numbers prefixed with the letters BZ. Two piers are in the background and the coast is backed by trees.
