Unknown single-deck warship
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the decoration detail around the taffrail and quarter pieces for an unnamed single-decked warship. The Taffrail carving includes a bust of the monarch surrounded by branches from a tree. On either side of the branches is a horseman in full gallop. Outside them are reclining figures holding a spear each. At the turn of the taffrail to the quarter pieces are two roundels, the left has the letter ‘G’ and the right ‘R’ in the middle. These roundels are held by two putti or cherubs. Below the putti on each side is a male figure holding a club, possibly depicting Hercules.
The ‘G R’ monogram suggests George I, and a date between 1714 and his death in 1727.
