Newport (1867)

A pencil note relating to DIC0089 'This was the design for the Newport and afterwards sent away for the Martin (Boy's Brigg) / 14th April 1864'

The Martin (1850), a 16-gun Second Class brig, was refitted as a training brig between February and October 1864, having been In Ordinary at Plymouth since launching at Pembroke Dockyard.
