On board an unidentified Orient Line cruise ship during lifeboat drill while under way at sea.

On board an unidentified Orient Line cruise ship during lifeboat drill while under way at sea. The photographer is looking aft along the starboard side of the boat deck from the bridge wing showing the clinker-built lifeboats all swung out but not yet being lowered. The crew are assembled in sections at each lifeboat station waiting to board the boats. Awning bars are rigged above the deck and a line of ventilators is on the right. Negative number P84550 was taken on the same occasion. This negative was identified by Marine Photo Service as being on board the Orontes (1929) but she has carvel built boats and far fewer ventilators.
