A secluded beach to the north-north-west of Philippeville, Algeria.
A secluded beach to the north-north-west of Philippeville, Algeria. An Orient Line motor lifeboat number 4 is anchored just offshore and one crewman is holding an oar in the boat. Another crewman is at the water's edge with his trouser legs rolled up. A large kettle is standing on a brazier in the foreground with a man watching it while sitting on a wooden box with Tate cube sugar stencilled on it. One of the crew is near the brazier looking seaward with his trouser legs rolled up. Two water containers are on the wall on the left. A tourist is on the beach and another is sitting by the side of a footpath in the background. The boat is possibly from the Otranto (1925) but this cannot be proven. A vertical format negative. See also negatives numbers P94262 and P94263.
