HMS 'Linnet'
The destroyer 'Linnet' was built by Yarrow at Scotstoun. She was launched on 16 August 1913 as 'Havock' but renamed in October and completed in December 1913. In this distant sketch she appears as if painted black (though this may just be in the eye of the artist, seeing her at distance) and does not have her class letter painted on the hull or her funnels, which would date the drawing to between August 1914 and mid-1916
