Lifeboat drill on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) while under way at sea.

Lifeboat drill on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) while under way at sea. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of the bridge deck showing the boat deck completely devoid of any passengers. All of the lifeboats have been swung out and are at boat deck level. Some of the crew are looking down from the boat deck guardrail and two officers, one holding a megaphone, are on the deck near lifeboat number 10. All of the crew in the picture are wearing cork life jackets.
