Three spritsail barges under sail in the Thames Estuary off Southend, Essex. On the right and seen from just abaft the port broadside is the Beric (1896). She is a stemhead bowsprit barge and has a white staysail and jib. A Skol Lager logo is on her red topsail. On the left and seen from fine off her port bow is the stemhead bowsprit barge Gladys (1901). She has a white jib and has a Sunblest logo on her red topsail. The third barge in the background has not been identified.
