The spritsail barges Scone (1919), Victor (1895) and Gladys (1901) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the Southend Barge Match. The staysail barge Scone is seen from abaft the port beam. She has a white staysail and the PREEDCRETE logo is on her white topsail. Well ahead of the Scone and seen from wide off the port quarter is the staysail barge Victor (1895) which has a blue and white striped staysail and the Kentish Life logo on her topsail. In the centre background is the bowsprit barge Gladys (1901) which has a white jib and has the Sunblest Bread logo on her topsail. A number of other sailing craft are in the picture.
