A port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the spritsail barge Victor (1895) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the Southend Barge Match. The staysail barge Victor is on the port tack, has a blue and white striped staysail and the Kent Life logo is on her topsail. Off her starboard quarter is the Colchester oyster smack Kate (1883) with her port registry CK139 on her mainsail and beyond the Kate is the bowsprit barge Gladys (1901) which has the Sunblest Bread logo on her topsail. A number of other barges are in the background.
