A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Lincoln smack Mermaid (1904) and the Maldon bawley Dorana (1939) under sail in Gillingham Reach, River Medway. The Mermaid has her port registry LN32 on her mainsail and the Dorana has MN2 on her mainsail. Other bawleys, smacks and spritsail barges are in the background and amongst them is a Union Transport (London) Ltd motor coaster. Negatives numbers PM2359/2 to PM2364/37 were taken on the same day.
