A port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the bowsprit spritsail barge Gladys (1901) under sail racing during the 1981 Blackwater Match. She has a white jib, is on the starboard tack and has the Sunblest Bread logo on her topsail. The tip of her mizzen sail is out of the picture. The race starts off Osea Island in the Blackwater and runs out into the Thames Estuary to the Wallet Spitway off Clacton before turning for the run back. A vertical format negative.
