A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Orient Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Orient (1879) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two funnels and has yards on her foremast. She is flying the Blue Peter from the fore, her company house flag from the main and a pilot flag from the bridge signal halyard. Two steam tenders are alongside her forward accommodation ladder. The negative has a vertical scratch above the ship's image.
