A starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Orient Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Orient (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has been refitted with a turtleback poop and a topgallant forecastle and she still has yards on her fore and main masts. She has the Blue Peter at her foremast and the company houseflag at the main. One of her midships lifeboats has been launched and is being rowed past her stern.
