The British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) working cargo in Barry Docks, South Wales.

The British India Steam Navigation Company cargo liner Chakdara (1951) loading cargo in Barry Docks, South Wales. The ship is berthed port side to the wharf and the photographer is on a vantage point above the wharf and abreast the ship's bridge looking aft and to starboard. It must be stand-easy time as the dockers at No. 3 hatch are reading newspapers, lying back on the hatch covers or standing at the ship's rail. A large packing case is being crnaed aboard by the funnel and a cargo net of sacks is being hoisted aboard for number 5 or number 6 hold. A bucket dredger is working in the background.
