A slightly distant port bow view, taken from very wide off the bow, of the passenger liner Orcades (1948) under way in Sydney harbour, New South Wales, bound out from Circular Quay, She has an all-white hull and buff funnel, derricks and mast. A pilot ladder is rigged to her forward shell door and she is emitting a column of smoke from her welsh bonnet capped funnel. The Opera House is under construction on the right of the picture. Negatives numbers N85566CN to N85573CN inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
