A view of the Captain's Day Room on the Shell tanker Serenia (1961). The three fabric-covered armchairs have antimacassars on the backs and the sofa has three embroidered cushions on it. The oval table in the centre has a pipe and cigar resting in their respective ashtrays. A large radio is on a shelf on the back wall. Three photographs are on the two bookcases and mantle piece showing the captain's wife, his daughter, and the three of them together. The ship was handed over to Shell in July 1961.
