She is dressed overall and has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships. Lifeboat number 10 is missing from its davits. The photographer is looking south from the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta showing French Creek on the left with Laboratory Wharf and Magazine Wharf beyond the Chusan. The horizon is not level.
