Lifeboat drill on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Canberra (1961) at sea.
Lifeboat drill on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger liner Canberra (1961) while under way at sea. The photographer is leaning over the port side of the ship's rail looking forward from aft showing all of the port side lifeboats swung out. None are fully manned but the two nearest boats have five of six men in each of them and the men are wearing lifejackets. Passengers are lining the rails to watch the proceedings and two are using cine cameras. The horizon is not quite level.
