A starboard beam midship detail of a British India Steam Navigation Company heavy-lift cargo liner of the Manora class cargo liner in an unknown port. The photographer is on the quayside looking to port showing the the pair of deck cranes between numbers 3 and 4 holds and the pair aft of number 4 hold and ahead of the superstructure. The pair between the holds have their jibs raised. On the quayside is a motor lorry with a sign on it stating "lorry for hire". There are four vessels in the class: Manora (1970), Merkara (1971), Morvada (1971) and Mulbera (1971). It is not known which of these is depicted.
